Salt. I think that's a perfect word for you, although I would argue that you already are salt in a million different ways, to people you touch through your blog, and I am sure to your family and at school. Anxious to see how the word plays out in your life this year. May you know love, peace, grace, and joy in amazing ways!

There is so much that can deepen our lives, and exploring a word like 'salt' is part of that. I'm interested in the paths you take, Ruth. I read the book Salt a few years ago and found it fascinating.

I enjoyed reading your reflection on last year's word and I think your new word is really powerful as well! (I must admit, I was intrigued and confused at first when you said it was "salt" but now it makes perfect sense!) I've always loved that verse, along with the "light of the world" one. Good luck spreading your unique flavoring around the world this year!
