One thing Slice of
Life has made clear to me this month is how full my life is. Being on the look
out for a slice each day makes me hyper aware of all the small moments filling
up my days. I’m intentional about the “stuff” in my day. I think about saying
yes and I choose to say no. My family’s health has been under attack this month
and I remind myself this takes an additional toll. The thing is, I feel
like I’m not enough. There’s more I want to do, but I just don’t seem to get it
together. I remind myself this isn’t true. I shake the thought away. But
tonight, I’m writing the things I need to hear.
You are enough to
love and teach and comfort and make three children feel secure.
You are enough to support and encourage teachers.
You are enough to be a friend.
You are enough to keep the house tidy, the laundry clean, and dinner on the table.
You are enough to blog and comment and email and tweet.
You are enough to write slices and poetry and keynotes and fiction and articles and chapters for a professional book.
You are enough to walk and stretch and play.
You are enough. Just
enough.
