I forgot to post this! (I'm sure it's hard to believe that I forgot to post it. Last week I only:
returned from Kansas City, attended a meeting about our new son, transferred our new son to a new school, brought him home, attended two planning meetings (from 8pm - 11pm) for an all-girls-all-nighter I'm helping to host, continued to work most of the week, and had Great Grandma Miller over to hang out with us for family night on Friday.)

Today is Saturday #4...I've already taken a few photos of today. I think I'm liking this habit of documenting 52 Saturdays.

I wanted to document ordinary Saturdays...yesterday was a significant, life-changing, really-big-deal event. We met our new son.

I have a set of three little 6 x 6 albums. They've been around for years. They are the new home for 52 Saturdays 2013. I'm looking forward to seeing what will develop as the year goes on. I love how this project seems manageable  I've been jealous of those who can pull off Project Life each year. This feels like a miniature version. A tiny layout. Once a week. I can do that! In addition, I'm planning to use Instagram to capture the images. You can follow me @ruth_ayres.

This is how I will shine.

My story is sacrificed when I don't write the mess and the giggles and the magic on the screen.

These words, written in a post last week, have stuck with me. They've compelled me to re-imagine what it means to blog here. What do I mean by Ruth Ayres Writes?

I think it adds up to living + writing + documenting + sharing. I want to be more intentional about these things. I want to capture this little life and find the magic of it. And so it begins, this first Saturday of 2013, with a little challenge inspired by my word.

52 Saturdays.

I'm capturing the shininess of each Saturday in 2013. I'm not exactly sure how I'll capture 52 Saturdays or what I'll hold in my hands at the end of it all. I am sure, though, that I'll be glad I collected something.
